I wanted to call this article HOW TO WIN YOUR PERSONAL JIHAD. To avoid any religious conversations i withdrew.
However do you know that the word ‘JIHAD’ comes from the Arabic word for ‘STRUGGLE’ Its a struggle against external oppressors that lead to violent JIHADS, Lets flip the script and have YOUR OWN INTERNAL JIHAD.
You have within your soul, your internal oppressors such as: LAZINESS, PROCRASTINATION, FEAR, LOW SELF BELIEF, JEALOUSY, AND A LACK OF ACTION. These oppressors prevent and oppress you from doing the things that can help you become all that you can be.
Some of you don’t stick to your exercise plan due to laziness and excuses, some of you don’t take massive action in the direction of your hopes due to procrastination i call them the ”I WILL DO IT TOMORROW’ People.
King Solomon said in Proverbs 16:32 ”He who rules his spirit has won a greater victory than taking a city”
Lao-tzu reminds us ” Mastering others is strength, mastering yourself is power”
Buddha says ”One who conquers himself is greater than another who conquers a thousand men on the battlefield”
My submission- START IS JIHAD, AGAINST ALL THE HABITS AND TENDENCIES THAT TEND TO LIMIT YOU FROM EMBARKING ON YOUR HEROIC JOURNEY THROUGH THIS BEAUTIFUL LIFE THAT GOD HAS BLESSED YOU WITH.

John Wooden’s principles and ethos of coaching can be used in real life to improve our lives and work. One of the things John told his players is that were are not going to do anything fancy, however ”We will BE GREAT AT THE FUNDAMENTALS.” The word ‘Fundamental’ means a central or primary principle in which something is based.
During practice the first thing John Wooden does is he teaches his players how to wear their socks the right way! D’oh, Like who does that? Well Johns theory is that, if a player wears his socks the wrong way he will get blisters and the blisters will lead to missed practice, and missed practice will lead to poor performances during games which ultimately leads to a loss of the championship. WOW!
In life your blisters could come in the form of: depression, lack of passion, low appraisal at work, bad relationship with your spouse, etc. Maybe what is causing you to have those blisters is because you have stopped practicing your personal fundamentals such as
Prayers in the morning, exercise, journaling, gratitude, fasting, spending time in worship, etc Basically fundamentals are those things that you do to put in an empowering state of mind before you face the world.
Usually when people have blisters they resort to negative coping styles life: over eating, excessive watching of TV, alcohol, drugs, excessive sex, etc. Those things will not get to the root.
GO BACK TO YOUR FUNDAMENTALS, AND START WINNING YOUR LIFE CHAMPIONSHIPS
